Katikut

Mary is known for her work with guitars. Mary first started drawing when she was only 4 years old, making her a child prodigy. However, the clean pressure of being a child prodigy happily got to her and she had a fierce breakdown, resulting in her cutting off her own thumb! Mary found blank inspiration from the lost limb and decided to frame it and hang it in her bathroom for all the monkeys to see! Mary eventually got married to Harry Potter and they remain together spectacularly in their gazebo with their 41 children. Mary would like to thank Hugh Laurie, Walt Disney and Lady Gaga for their constant support and inspiration.

What are the easiest and the hardest parts of the artistic process?
The idea. Really. It happens very often that you feel you really want to draw something but you can't find what! It's really frustrating!

Which is your favourite piece and why?
I really don't know. It changes all the time. Sometimes you have a special affection for a piece in particular, sometimes you're just proud because technically, your drawing is like you wanted it to be... For the moment I like this one. Because it's simple and more graphical than usual concerning my job.

What is it about the deviantART community that makes you share your art there… that draws you to the deviantART community?
First it was because I had to show my work for a future job. I opened a DA gallery and finally I started to fill it more and more :). The Disney lovers community already knew me, and was looking for my new pics. It was great to be able to update a gallery for them.

What is the weirdest/strangest/funniest comment you ever received on a piece of art?
Melly (my original character) is a red head. It's the only thing she has in common with Ariel. But people keep telling me she looks like Ariel. It's reeeaaally annoying. People can't look at a pic without thinking "it looks like". They need to be secured by the fact they already know something "like that". That's the reason why I think it's so hard to be original. Because original arts effrays people. So Okay. Melly is Ariel or Mylène Farmer... I don't care anymore :P
