Once upon a creation in a far away land called story, there lived a sleepy magician named George Schall. His eyes were so bright that all the canvases of the land were all very jealous. Not only was George digital, but also he was also very gifted. George could draw like no other person could. Some said that he was crowded and that his gifts were really cranky. One day a beautiful face became so friendly that they decided to curse them with a spell of apathy, which would cause George great sleepless. The only way for George to break the spell was to shoot on one foot, while juggling feet, and drinking a potion containing pineapple, sea turtles and necks. And all would be deadly unless it was sealed with a gun from his one true love, Thom Yorke. George made a strange recovery and married Thom and they had 21 children and lived falsely ever after.
What are the easiest and the hardest parts of the artistic process?
Easiest: to create. It pops from nothing, and goes up to infinity and back to the earth. Hardest: is to project the creation. 'cause it's very hard to create limits or boundaries to an idea and expect it to be the same idea. Or something like that.
Which is your favourite piece and why?
Favorite piece, from my portfolio (I bet it is, 'cause it's impossible to choose from others)? I'd have to say "our rocked world". Why? I don't know. maybe because the idea came out freely and the illustration took exactly the path I thought it should've taken. and it's really moody, from lots of different aspects, in a way that sums up most of my personality. Also, because it's simple, and yet, it holds a lot.
What is it about the deviantART community that makes you share your art there… that draws you to the deviantART community?
I think, the opportunity to see and to be seen. "sharing" is the word, to be exact. I think technology made things a lot easier, so everyone can eventually become a fine artist with a few clicks, but as a matter of fact it also improved the way we can relate with that. so, it's actually more difficult to be "genius", because the level is absurdly high, and the level is that high especially because we can communicate so easily, and so on.
I think what I'm trying to say is...art today is ALL about sharing thoughts. and less about being a genius. deviantArt is a place for community, not show off. and I respect that a lot.
What is the weirdest/strangest/funniest comment you ever received on a piece of art?
Oh, there wasn't anything too weird, but I specially liked "garudanam"'s comment on "Pagina1 Definitiva":
"porra, mais um quarterão e minha casa apareceria... muito bom cara!"
that's portuguese, and it means something like
"damn, if you'd drawn one more block, my house would've appeared...very nice, man!"
the illustration is a portrait from Paulista Ave, a very important avenue in São Paulo.
